Message To All – Sometimes this upgrade can be confusing, as there is many variables with year of car, which options the car came with, and which options have already been added to your car. So please do not hesitate to contact us and we can work out which is the best option for you and your car.
Available For The Older Cars Is Wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto
Takes full use of the factory system, so you do not have to change your system. Demo can be seen on our instagram and youtube.
Full OEM User Interface, Including Steering Wheel Controls.
(Please note, original system will need to be left on the AUX screen or CD Changer mode, depending on where the source of audio is set to).
Our OEM+ CarPlay integrates beautifully into the OEM hardware allowing you to use the original screen, including the original system Menus showing car information, vehicle data etc. The device does not replace any of the existing hardware, and allows you to easily view the original BMW Menu at the press of a button making it a complete OEM+ Solution.
Once installed the unit provides wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Screen Mirroring as well as a USB connection which allows you to attach a USB memory devices (Movies, TV Shows, Music etc)*. Reverse camera is also an extra feature available, with this upgrade.

The feature will work off the TV Tuner. If your vehicle did not come with television option from factory, this is not a problem, it is very easy to retrofit. We sell our own in house retrofit cables. However, it is not always needed, if you don’t mind disconnecting the original navigation unit, and connecting the connector into the tv tuner. This is not possible in convertibles, or tourings. A retrofit cable or extension cable will be required.
We use the Auxiliary input/mode, for the best possible sound. Cars after 2003 will normally have the Auxiliary feature, but pre 2003 and Range Rovers, will require a firmware upgrade to enable this feature. Please see the BM54 section for more details.
It can still work for cars with the older Radios, such as BM24s and very old BM54 units which are not compatible for Auxiliary input. You must specify, which version you would like, as the audio output will be specified for your spec.
The System is also compatible with bluebus and OEM bluetooth hands free. There is an option to turn off the CarPlay / Android Auto sound output, and use your own, but still have control via CarPlay / Android Auto.
The Apple CarPlay / Android Auto is controlled 3 ways:
– Fully Integrated With The OEM User Interface

– via an iDrive Controller
You can place the controller anywhere you want to, for easy navigation, just like later models of BMWs and other car manufacturers.
For the E46 models, we have designed a cup bracket, which fits nicely in to the cupholder. Will work on other models with cupholders, such as X5. (please see CarPlay / Android Auto Accessories for cost details)
– Voice Command (for example, “hey siri”)
– Touchscreen
Your original Monitor is modified to allow for touchscreen. An extension cable is also provided, which connects to the Monitor and TV Tuner.
Dead pixels on your monitor? Then we can also replace the TFT screen for a discounted price of £120, instead of £200. Have us change the old knackered pixelated screen with a brand new one and add touchscreen at the same time for Apple CarPlay / Android Auto.

Phone Call / Microphone
– OEM Bluetooth Hands Free – If your car has a working factory Bluetooth, then please let us know, and we can modify the BM54 Radio, with a Bluetooth music streaming device free of charge, so you can still use your original Bluetooth hands free.
The way this is done, will be to turn off the Apple Carplay / Android Auto Audio, and use external audio, which in this case will be the OEM Bluetooth hands free for calls, and the Bluetooth device added to the the AUX of the BM54 Radio.
– Non Bluetooth Hands Free System – If your car doesn’t have an OEM Bluetooth hands free, but has an old phone system, then the original microphone cable can be used, and your original microphone can be modified to work with the Apple Carplay / Android Auto.
– No Telephone system – If your car doesn’t have any telephone system, then you can either add an OEM microphone can be added to some vehicles. All convertibles have a microphone location by the interior lights. A car with a sunroof, the panel can be removed and a rectangle shape cut out for the microphone OEM install.
Alternatively, we have universal microphones, which can be added for those vehicles which do not have an option to add an OEM microphone.

Vehicles with BMW OEM Hybrid Digital TV Tuners
Since the Apple CarPlay / Android Auto is installed inside the TV Tuners, we can now make it work with the original Digital TV tuners. Please send us your TV tuner to modify. You can send in your TV Tuner, if its analogue as well, and receive a discount of £30.

This is for upgrading your original analogue tuner by us, to digital freeview TV and Radio.
BMW vehicles with bumper aerials are not are not as good as later version. These are found in pre facelift BMWs and ALL convertibles. Additional slick aerials that we sell for an additional £30 for the pair, is perfect to get the great reception, as shown above.
